COMING SOON! Are you providing leadership to your church, and you want to do so in the most effective way possible? Are you hoping to be inspired for this work by a better understanding of how to work alongside other church members, to the health of the church and the glory of God?
Leadership for Mission is designed to help members of the church build leadership skills: honing communication, introducing change, leading groups, and addressing situations of disagreement and conflict. But leadership is more: It is a way of participating in God’s governance of his kingdom, a spiritual discipline that is deeper and broader and goes to the very heart of its practitioners. This class will focus on leadership that can help churches and ministries reach out to the world God wants to renew. Using a variety of concepts, models and strategies, we will explore what it means to be a “missional” or “transformational” leader in your unique context.
Wednesdays from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. (EST), Oct 15 – Nov 19
Each week the Zoom link will be sent out ahead of time. However, it will be a recurring meeting so that you may use the same link each week. Tasks include:
- A vignette to read each week from Understanding Christian Leadership by Ian Parkinson (SCM Press, 2020)
- A final email conversation with your professor regarding what you have learned
